Congressman Rudy Yakym, who has represented Indiana’s 2nd District in the U.S. Congress since 2022, recently highlighted a series of community and legislative initiatives on his social media account.

On August 26, 2025, Yakym shared his involvement with local healthcare support efforts: “Honored to join the Comcast Foundation in presenting a check to St. Joseph Health System to support vital tech upgrades in the pediatric unit. Investing in our kids’ health is investing in our future! https://t.co/LqjM55j3oD”.

Later that day, he reflected on the anniversary of a significant event for military families: “Four years ago, we lost 13 American heroes at Abbey Gate during the botched Afghanistan withdrawal. Today, 13 empty chairs remain at their families’ tables. May we never forget their sacrifice and may God continue to bless their loved ones https://t.co/LxF8qTHaWA”.

Yakym also addressed tax policy and its impact on his constituents: “Without the OBBB, the average taxpayer in IN-02 would see up to a 27% tax hike. For the hardworking employees at Intertech in North Manchester, the One Big Beautiful Bill helps ensure they can spend more on their families and less on government waste! https://t.co/4hFxXmGdGH”.

Born in 1984 and currently residing in Granger, Yakym graduated from Indiana University South Bend with both an associate’s degree (2009) and a bachelor’s degree (2011). He continues to focus on issues relevant to his district including healthcare improvements and fiscal policy.
