Congressman Rudy Yakym, representing Indiana’s 2nd District since 2022, shared a series of tweets on July 10, 2025, highlighting statements made by various political figures regarding the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). These posts capture ongoing debates about immigration policy and the role of ICE.

In one tweet from July 10, Yakym quoted Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries stating: “Every single ICE agent who’s engaged in this aggressive overreach and are trying to hide their identities from the American people, will be unsuccessful in doing that…every single one of them, no matter what it takes, no matter how long it”. This statement reflects concerns about accountability within ICE operations.

Another post from the same day highlighted comments by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: “I believe that ICE, an agency that was just formed in 2003 during the Patriot Act era, is a rogue agency that should not exist.” Ocasio-Cortez’s remarks question the legitimacy and necessity of ICE as an agency.

Additionally, Congressman Yakym tweeted a quote from Rep. Kamlager-Dove: “I would argue that this is not immigration policy that we’re seeing unfold. This is domestic terrorism…” This statement suggests a severe critique of current immigration enforcement strategies.

Rudy Yakym was born in 1984 and resides in Granger. He graduated with an AS degree in 2009 and a BS degree in 2011 from Indiana University South Bend.
