Notre Dame right-handed pitcher Jack Radel was named to the 2026 Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List, according to an April 2 announcement from USA Baseball.
The Golden Spikes Award recognizes the top amateur baseball players in the country. Being included on the midseason watch list highlights Radel’s strong performance during the current season and places him among notable collegiate athletes nationwide.
Radel is one of 45 amateur baseball players and one of only 17 pitchers selected for this recognition. As of March 31, NCAA Division I statistical rankings placed him seventh in WHIP (0.76), twenty-third in strikeout-to-walk ratio (7.71), twenty-fourth in hits allowed per nine innings (5.27), and twenty-sixth in total strikeouts (54). He also ranks among national leaders for walks allowed per nine innings (1.54), earned run average (2.41), and strikeouts per nine innings (11.85).
Radel, a native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has been named ACC Pitcher of the Week twice during the 2026 season and was recently recognized by Perfect Game as a Midseason All-American Second Team honoree.
USA Baseball will announce semifinalists for the Golden Spikes Award on May 14.
