The University of Notre Dame softball team lost to Indiana by a score of 11-1 in five innings on April 14. The game took place in Bloomington, Indiana.
This loss brings the team’s record to 17-26 for the season. During the second inning, Tenley Sweet achieved her tenth run batted in of the year by hitting a ball up the middle, allowing Sydny Poeck—who had started off the inning with a base hit—to score.
The defeat concluded after five innings due to run rule regulations. The team will have an opportunity to recover quickly as they return home for their next game.
Notre Dame is scheduled to play against Northwestern at Melissa Cook Stadium tomorrow. The first pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time and will be broadcast on ACC Network. Attendance at all regular season Notre Dame softball games remains free for fans.
Looking ahead, the Irish hope to improve their performance as they continue through their schedule.
