The University of Notre Dame softball team will play against Valparaiso at Melissa Cook Stadium on April 8, with the game scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and broadcast on ACC Network Extra.

This matchup is part of a week that features four home games for the Irish, beginning with Valpo and followed by a weekend conference series against Louisville. The contest marks another chapter in a long-standing series between Notre Dame and Valpo.

Notre Dame holds a dominant record over Valparaiso, winning 38 out of their previous meetings, including the last 37 consecutive games. At home in South Bend, the Irish have won 27 times and lost once to Valpo, while remaining undefeated in nine games at Melissa Cook Stadium.

In their most recent meeting last April at Melissa Cook Stadium, Notre Dame secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Valpo. Avery Houlihan hit her first career home run during that game, and Brianne Weiss contributed three scoreless innings in relief to help secure the win.

Admission to all regular season Notre Dame softball games remains free for fans.
