The Notre Dame women’s golf team concluded its fall season at the Landfall Tradition tournament in Wilmington, North Carolina, placing 15th with a total score of 897 (+33), according to an Oct. 27 announcement.
The competition marked the final event of the team’s fall schedule. The results provide insight into individual and team performances as they look ahead to the spring portion of their season.
Alex Lapple led Notre Dame, finishing tied for 13th individually with a three-round total of 216 (even par). Lapple opened with a round of 71 (-1), including four birdies, followed by a second-round score of 76 (+4). She closed out the tournament strong, shooting a final round of 69 (-3), which was both her best round and the lowest single-round score for any Irish player during this event. Her last round included four birdies and an eagle on Hole 12.
Maddy Bante finished second among Notre Dame players and placed tied for 41st overall with a combined score of 223 (+7). Bante posted her lowest score in the second round with a one-under-par performance (71) after opening with a first-round score of 75 (+3) and closing at 77 (+5).
Taryn Cagle and Jordan Levitt finished close together in scoring. Cagle ended up tied for 64th place at +12 (228), highlighted by her best effort in round two (74/+2). Levitt placed tied for 74th at +14 (230), starting off with her lowest round on day one (75/+3).
Bridget Wilkie also represented Notre Dame, completing three rounds with an overall tally of +31 (247) to finish tied for ninety-fifth place.
With the conclusion of The Landfall Tradition, Notre Dame women’s golf now turns its attention to preparing for competition when their season resumes in February.
