Congressman Rudy Yakym, who has represented Indiana’s 2nd District in the U.S. Congress since 2022, highlighted regional economic development and innovation initiatives in a series of social media posts on August 6, 2025.

In his first post of the day, Yakym expressed support for research at a local university: “I’m proud to support Notre Dame’s leadership in cutting-edge research and innovation, and it was a pleasure to join them for the ribbon cutting of the new Microelectronics Commons Hub.” (August 6, 2025).

Later that afternoon, Yakym met with business leaders from the South Bend area. He wrote: “Good to spend time with our region’s business leaders @SouthBendChmbr executive roundtable this afternoon and discuss the opportunities to jumpstart our economy because of the One Big Beautiful Bill.” (August 6, 2025).

In an evening post, Yakym focused on Nello Corporation’s expansion prospects. He stated: “Nello is one of the largest and fastest growing energy and communication tower manufacturers in the industry. Thanks to the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill, they can continue to grow with 100% bonus depreciation for machinery and facilities.” (August 6, 2025).

Yakym was born in 1984 and currently resides in Granger. He holds associate’s and bachelor’s degrees from Indiana University South Bend.
