Congressman Rudy Yakym, who has represented Indiana’s 2nd District in the U.S. Congress since 2022, posted a series of messages on July 16, 2025, highlighting legislative developments and expressing appreciation for colleagues.

In his first post of the day, Yakym extended birthday wishes to a fellow lawmaker: “Happy Birthday, @SenatorBanks! Grateful for your partnership in the Senate to make Indiana the best state to live, work, and raise a family.” (July 16, 2025).

Later that afternoon, he posted a brief message referencing campaign commitments: “Promises made, promises kept” (July 16, 2025).

That evening, Yakym commented on new federal legislation addressing drug policy: “The HALT Fentanyl Act is now law, a critical step in combating the Fentanyl crisis. I was proud to vote for this legislation to help save lives and protect our communities. Thank you @POTUS!” (July 16, 2025).

Yakym is currently based in Granger and was born in 1984. He holds associate and bachelor’s degrees from Indiana University South Bend. The HALT Fentanyl Act aims to address rising concerns about fentanyl-related overdoses across the United States by strengthening legal measures against synthetic opioids.
