Congressman Rudy Yakym, representing Indiana’s 2nd District since 2022, shared insights and updates through several tweets on April 15 and 16, 2025. These posts touch upon a range of topics from local engagements to broader political issues.

On April 15, Yakym tweeted about his visit to Bashor Children’s Home in Goshen. He highlighted the institution’s century-long commitment to providing a “safe place to live, learn, and grow” for children. Reflecting on his visit with the student government and staff, he expressed his honor in spending an evening with them.

Additionally, on the same day, Yakym addressed a national fiscal concern by tweeting about the impending expiration of tax cuts initiated by President Trump. He claimed that these cuts, delivered in 2017, represent the “largest middle-class tax cut in U.S. history.” Yakym is actively advocating to extend these tax cuts to ensure “Hoosier families can keep more of what they earn.”

On April 16, in another tweet, Yakym criticized certain immigration practices, pointing out that Democrats are “flying to foreign countries to bring illegal immigrants back to America.” He referenced a specific incident involving an “illegal immigrant” accused of murdering Maryland mom, Rachel Morin, and alleged that Senator Van Hollen was silent on the issue.

Rudy Yakym, aged 39 and from Granger, also has an educational background from Indiana University South Bend, where he graduated with an AS in 2009 and a BS in 2011.
