Congressman Rudy Yakym, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress as the representative for Indiana’s 2nd District since 2022, has recently addressed several issues through his social media platform. Born in 1984 and residing in Granger, Yakym is an alumnus of Indiana University South Bend, holding degrees earned in 2009 and 2011. His latest communications cover a legislative initiative aimed at enhancing school bus safety, allegations regarding fiscal mismanagement within the Veterans Affairs, and an upcoming live radio engagement.

On March 27, 2025, Congressman Yakym emphasized the importance of protecting children from the dangers posed by drivers illegally passing stopped school buses. He announced his co-leadership of the Brake for Kids Act alongside colleagues Representatives Pete Stauber, Seth Moulton, and Julia Brownley. Yakym stated, “Hoosiers are all too familiar with the devastating consequences of drivers illegally passing stopped school buses. That’s why I’m proud to co-lead the Brake for Kids Act with my colleagues @RepPeteStauber, @RepMoulton, and @RepBrownley to help protect our kids and prevent further”.

Later the same day, Yakym criticized President Biden’s administration with regard to a financial shortfall claim made by the Department of Veterans Affairs. In his tweet, he expressed gratitude towards Representative Mike Bost for exposing what he considers the truth about a supposed $3 billion shortfall. Yakym remarked, “Biden’s VA lied about a $3B shortfall, scaring veterans to get more taxpayer money from Congress. Now we know there was NEVER a shortfall. Thank you, @RepBost, for uncovering the truth. Using veterans as pawns is disgusting—but nothing’s below Sleepy Joe.”

Through a post on March 28, 2025, Yakym invited his followers to listen to his appearance on a local radio station, indicating his ongoing participation in media interactions. He shared, “About to go live with Jon and Laura on @953MNC! Make sure to tune in!”
