Saints Fall To Tigers At Home

The Holy Cross women’s basketball team continued their conference play today, when they played host to the Olivet Nazarene University Tigers. The Saints struggled early offensively and were overwhelmed with the pressuring defense of the Tigers. The Saints would trail 31-13 going into the second quarter. The Saints made improvements in the second quarter offensively and defensively. The Saints shot 44% in the quarter and would trail 57-28. Coming out of halftime, the Saints found their groove on offense. The Saints were able to overcome the full court pressure of the Tigers and start hitting shots. Grace Adams led the way with scoring and was able to score 21 points in today’s game. The Saints shot 55% from the field and won the quarter 27-22. The Saints would still trail 79-55 going into the fourth quarter. The Saints carried their momentum into the fourth and continued to find the open shots on offense. The Saints were able to win the fourth quarter 22-20, but despite winning the last two quarters the Saints would fall 99-77. With the loss, Holy Cross drops to 12-10 overall and 7-7 in conference play, while the Tigers improve to 13-7 and 10-3.
