Bendable Collection: How to support your community in the opioid crisis

19

North Liberty Branch Library recently issued the following announcement.

Bendable Collection: How to support your community in the opioid crisis

I knew little about opioid overdose until two years ago, when I met my business partner Kirk Hoey. He shared stories of himself and others not calling 911 when someone was overdosing, and had an idea for an app to solve this problem. That was when I started my journey to learn all I could about opioid overdose, leading us to create an app, Naxos OD, that connects those witnessing an opioid overdose with others in their area who have naloxone, the overdose reversal drug.

There is so much more that communities can do right now to save lives if we choose to educate ourselves and connect with our neighbors in crisis. These resources will provide you with the framework and the tools to join your neighbors in creating a more compassionate community that saves lives.
