Late Comeback Not Enough, As Saints Fall To Cougars
The Holy Cross women's basketball team squared off against the Cougars of Spring Arbor University in a non-conference matchup. The first quarter was a defensive battle with no team getting their offense going. That would lead to a Holy Cross 13-12 lead going into the second quarter. In the second quarter, the Cougars found their shot and they were able to take the lead with efficient shooting from the field. The Saints would trail 36-26 going into halftime. In the third quarter, the Saints were able to find their offense and score 23 points in the quarter on 59% shooting from the field. Despite the good shooting in the quarter, the Saints would still trail 59-49 heading into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Saints shot well again and were able to outscore the Cougars 23-20, on 41% shooting from the field. Despite the efficient offense late from the Saints, they would fall short 79-72. With the loss, Holy Cross drops to 2-5, while the Cougars improve to 4-0.
