Saints Win Big at Home
The Holy Cross women's basketball team continued their conference play today, when they played host to the Judson University Eagles. The Saint's defense was stellar in today's game and was able to pressure the Eagles all game long. In the first quarter, the Saints outscored the Eagles 23-10 and held the Eagles to shooting 18% from the field. In the second quarter, the Saints offense was very efficient shooting 60% from the field and 50% from three-point range. With this effort on offense, the Saints would lead 44-21 going into halftime. Coming out of halftime, the Saints defense applied more pressure and held the Eagles to 7 points in the quarter and 18% shooting from the field. The Saints would take a 56-28 lead going into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Saints offense was knocking down their shots shooting 53% from the field. The Saints' ability to keep constant pressure on defense and rebound the basketball would lead them to a 76-41 victory over the Eagles. With the win, Holy Cross improved to 9-8 overall and 4-5 in conference play, while the Eagles dropped to 3-13 and 2-7.
