The Holy Cross College annual Parents’ Weekend is February 17-19, 2023. The weekend is a great chance to spend time with your student, their friends, and other parents.
Registration is required for many activities throughout the weekend, click here to register today!
Weekend Schedule
Friday, February 17
3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Registration and Welcome | Vincent Atrium, lower level in Vincent Hall
Pick up a registration packet that includes the final program, name tags, and any tickets ordered.
4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Fridays at Four | Ave Brew Cafe
Join us for a sampling of wines from the region by a sommelier hosted by Professor Anthony Monta, Ph.D. and Director of Student Activities Carolyn Kitz. Enjoy an educational experience filled with spirits and community building.
4:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Dinner | Siegfried Family Dining Hall
Dinner is available for $7 per guest (no charge for students with a meal plan).
6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Honors Convocation | St. Joseph Chapel
This special recognition is by invitation only. The ceremony honors full-time students earning academic honors and graduating seniors with honors.
8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Opening Reception | Vincent Atrium in Vincent Hall
Start the weekend by joining host, President Dr. Marco Clark for some light music, hors d’oeuvres, and an open bar with beer, wine, and soft drinks in the company of students and their families.

Refreshments in Vincent Atrium
Enjoy a complimentary hot or cold beverage from the American Espresso Catering cart sponsored by the Holy Cross College Relations Office.
10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Color the Cross | Vincent 140, Vincent Hall
Create an original work of art during a guided, step-by-step painting session, led by Holy Cross College art professor, Angelo Martinez. All materials, light snacks, and beverages are provided. Registration required. Limited to 20 people. Cost is $10 per person.
10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Explore the sciences | Vincent Hall
Learn more about the Holy Cross College science department with presentations by students and members of the faculty. Use a stereoscope, learn about circadian rhythm research on campus, and so much more.
Noon to 1:30 p.m.
Pizza with the President | Vincent Atrium
Mingle with new president Dr. Marco Clark and first lady Mrs. Peggy Clark and sample delicious complimentary pizza from Barnaby’s, owned by alumnus Ashton Lane ’22.
2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Leadership Lecture with Tim Brown | Driscoll Auditorium
Motivational speaker Tim Brown will speak on the topic of leadership. He is a 9-time Pro Bowl selection, 1987 Heisman Trophy winner, the only NFL wide receiver to win the Heisman Award and be inducted into the Hall of Fame, and a current Holy Cross College parent. This event is free and sponsored by the Office of College Relations.
5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Parents’ Weekend Family Mass | St. Joseph Chapel
Students and families of every faith are invited to celebrate Mass in the St. Joseph Chapel.
6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Ice Skating | Howard Park, downtown South Bend
Enjoy one of the many fun winter attractions in downtown South Bend with ice skating at Howard Park. Not an ice skater? Enjoy refreshments at the public house or walk around the area attractions like local restaurants, the river lights, and more. Bus transportation and dinner are provided. Cost is $20 per person. Kids (10 and under) are $12.

9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Farewell Pancake Breakfast | Siegfried Family Dining Hall
Enjoy a caricature artist along with a hearty breakfast of pancakes, bacon, sausage, and eggs before embarking on your journey home. Cost is $9 per person (no charge for students with a meal plan).
