Registration Opens for Bethel University’s Pilot Summer Academy

Registration is now open for Bethel University’s newly expanded academic camps. Pilot Summer Academy provides students, ages 9-17, the opportunity to explore their interests, experience education in a college environment and spend time learning about themselves and opportunities available to them. In partnership with Indiana Youth Programs on Campus, Bethel University is offering our standard academic arts and sciences day camps, along with a residential nursing camp and a series of college introduction days throughout the summer.

STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) Camps will take place July 10-14 and July 17-21 on Bethel’s campus. The first week includes theatre, graphic arts, art, engineering and chemistry. The second week includes musical theatre, graphic arts, engineering and environmental science.

Give it a Shot: Intro to Nursing Residential Camp will take place June 13-15 on Bethel’s campus. This immersive experience for grades 10-12 will include real simulations, local hospital visits, and hands-on experiences, while students stay in the dorms and enjoy meals in the dining commons.

Pilot Preparation: Intro to College Camps will take place June 9, 19, 23 and 30 and are for students grades 9-12. These camps have been designed to introduce various majors and the wide variety of unique and interesting careers that come with them to students who want to explore all their options. Camps will focus on Business and Kinesiology, STEM, Fine Arts and American Sign Language, and Education and Religion.

We are also very excited to announce that scholarships will be available this year for students residing in St. Joseph County, Ind. These scholarships will be based on need and can be applied for using the registration form on the website.

Pilot Summer Academy at Bethel University is made possible by a grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. through its initiative, Indiana Youth Programs on Campus. The initiative is designed to help Indiana colleges and universities a physical campus in the state in their efforts to create new or expand and enhance existing high-quality, on-campus programs for Hoosier youth, ages five to 18.
