Congressman Rudy Yakym, who has represented Indiana’s 2nd District in the U.S. Congress since 2022, shared several reflections and statements on social media this week, including a tribute to Charlie Kirk and commemorations of September 11.

On September 10, Yakym posted a message expressing condolences following the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. In his statement, he wrote: "Sallyann and I are heartbroken by the passing of Charlie Kirk. He was a true trailblazer who inspired a generation of students to cherish faith, freedom, and family. We pray that God’s comfort surrounds Erika and their two young children during this difficult time."

The following day, on September 11—the anniversary of the terrorist attacks—Yakym marked the occasion with a remembrance post. He stated: "24 years ago, tragedy struck our nation. Today, we remember the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the unbreakable spirit of America. We will never forget."

Later that same day, Yakym commented briefly on an unspecified topic by writing: "This was just common sense!"

Yakym is currently 39 years old and resides in Granger. He graduated from Indiana University South Bend with an Associate’s degree in 2009 and a Bachelor’s degree in 2011.
