Congressman Rudy Yakym, who has represented Indiana’s 2nd District in the U.S. Congress since 2022, posted several updates on September 16, 2025, addressing topics ranging from honoring public figures to supporting youth interested in military service and advocating for non-profit hospitals.

In a post made at 13:44 UTC, Yakym wrote, "Last night, I joined my colleagues in the U.S. Capitol to honor the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk. May God bless Charlie and his family, and may his impact and memory continue to inspire us."

Later that day at 17:26 UTC, he promoted an upcoming event for local students: "Our Service Academy Night is coming up next week at Penn High School in Mishawaka. This will be an excellent opportunity for young men and women interested in applying to our service academies to learn more about the nomination process."

At 20:18 UTC on the same day, Yakym addressed healthcare issues with a focus on hospital accountability: "Non-profit hospitals play a vital role in patient care, sometimes as the only source of care for patients. We must protect hospitals that honor their tax-exempt status and hold accountable those that abuse it."

Yakym is a lifelong Indiana resident who was born in 1984 and currently lives in Granger. He graduated from Indiana University South Bend with associate's and bachelor's degrees earned in 2009 and 2011 respectively.
