Congressman Rudy Yakym, who has represented Indiana’s 2nd District in the U.S. Congress since 2022, shared several updates on his social media accounts this week, including messages related to religious observance, sports events in Indiana, and federal government proceedings.

On October 1, 2025, Yakym posted a message for those observing Yom Kippur: "Wishing peace and goodness to all observing Yom Kippur."

The following day, October 2, he highlighted an upcoming major sporting event set to take place in Indianapolis. In his words: "Thrilled that the 2028 Women’s Final Four will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. We’re proud to host this landmark event and show the world Hoosier hospitality at its best!" The Women's Final Four is among the most significant tournaments in college basketball and is expected to draw considerable attention to Indiana's capital.

Later that same day, Yakym addressed ongoing discussions in Congress regarding a potential government shutdown. He wrote: ".@SenMullin is right: Senate Democrats could reopen the government by simply walking on the floor and voting yes on the clean CR."

Yakym was born in 1984 and currently resides in Granger. He graduated from Indiana University South Bend with both an associate degree (2009) and a bachelor’s degree (2011).
