On October 13, 2025, Yakym expressed appreciation for former President Donald Trump, stating, "Absolutely historic. Thank you, President Trump!"
Later that day, he marked a milestone for the United States Navy with a message of gratitude: "Happy 250th Birthday to the United States Navy! Thank you to all who serve, past and present, for your dedication, courage, and commitment to keeping our nation safe." The post was made on October 13, 2025.
On October 14, 2025, Yakym acknowledged the posthumous awarding of the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Charlie Kirk: "Today, Charlie Kirk was posthumously honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom on what would have been his 32nd birthday. Yakym, born in 1984 and currently residing in Granger, is 39 years old. He holds both an Associate of Science and a Bachelor of Science from Indiana University South Bend, completing his studies in 2009 and 2011 respectively.
