University of Notre Dame men’s lacrosse players Will Donovan and Josh Yago were selected in the 2026 Premier Lacrosse League draft, according to an April 14 announcement.
The selection of both athletes highlights Notre Dame’s continued presence in professional lacrosse drafts, with a total of 58 Fighting Irish players chosen throughout history.
Donovan was picked by the Boston Cannons as the 15th overall selection in the second round. He is recognized as one of the top long-stick midfielders nationally, regularly defending against opponents’ leading midfielders and excelling during faceoffs. Donovan is a senior who has earned All-American honors three times and has been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference team multiple times. He played key roles on Notre Dame’s national championship teams in both 2023 and 2024.
Yago was drafted by the Philadelphia Waterdogs with the 21st pick in the third round. After transferring from Air Force, he became a leading scorer for Notre Dame this season, topping the team charts with 32 points and sharing first place for goals scored at 20. Yago also leads his teammates with 12 assists. He received recognition as an honorable mention All-American and was named ASUN Offensive Player of the Year for 2025.
Looking ahead, Donovan, Yago, and their teammates will conclude their regular-season road schedule on Saturday against Duke University at Koskinen Stadium. The game is set for noon Eastern Time and will be broadcast on ESPNU.
