FINAL PHASE OF OLIVE STREET PAVEMENT PROJECT BEGINS MONDAY, JUNE 27

The final phase of construction for the Olive Street Pavement Replacement Project is expected to get underway Monday, June 27.

The project includes the replacement of the concrete pavement on Olive Street from Indiana Court to Tucker Drive.

Improvements include new curb ramps, storm sewers, driveway approaches, multipurpose trail on the east side of the street and an upgraded railroad crossing.

Olive Street from Indiana Court to Tucker Drive will be closed during construction.

The southbound detour for Olive Street will be east on Sample Street, south on Prairie Avenue/State Road 23 before rejoining Olive.

Northbound traffic on Olive will reverse the flow: north on Prairie Avenue/State Road 23, west on Sample Street before rejoining Olive.

A detour map is attached.

Access to all businesses in the impacted areas will be maintained during construction.

The $655,000 bid was awarded to Milestone Contractors North. Eighty percent of the costs for the project will come through federal funding, with 20 percent covered locally.

The anticipated completion date for this project is mid-September, weather permitting.
