Fuentealba Named Ccac Player Of The Week
The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the men's soccer Player of the Week awards this morning. Claudio Fuentealba was named CCAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Fuentealba, from Rancagua, Chile, is a sophomore goalkeeper on the Holy Cross College men's soccer team. In the Saints lone match for the week, he recorded eight saves. With Fuentealba in net, Holy Cross was able to draw 2-2 with 15th ranked Olivet Nazarene University. With the draw, the Saints would also secure hosting the first round of the CCAC postseason tournament.
Behind Fuentealba, men's soccer finished their regular season with a 9-4-4 overall record while going 7-1-4 in league play. The Saints will host Judson University on Friday, November 5th in the opening round. Kickoff set for 3:00pm.
