Fuentealba Awarded Second Defensive Pow
Holy Cross College's Claudio Fuentealba earned back-to-back- Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer Defensive Player of the Week awards.
Fuentealba, from Rancagua, Chile, is a sophomore goalkeeper on the Holy Cross College men's soccer team. Fuentealba recorded another shutout this week, in the Saints 3-0 victory over Judson University in the opening round of the CCAC postseason tournament. In the game, he secured three saves.
On the year, Fuentealba has recorded 49 saves and has a 0.93 goals-against average with seven shutouts. The Saints sit at 10-4-4 overall record and 7-1-4 in conference play.
The Saints will return to action tonight when they travel to take on No. 1 seed Olivet Nazarene University in the CCAC semifinals. Kickoff set for 8:00pm.
