CCAC Releases Postseason Awards
The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced their women's soccer 2022 All-Conference Awards. The Holy Cross College women's soccer program had two players earn this distinction. Lauren Cernak was named to the CCAC's All-Conference First Team and Ashlyn Craig was awarded to the All-Conference Second Team.
Lauren Cernak, from South Bend, Indiana, started 17 of 19 matches this season and returns to CCAC All-Conference distinction for the third-consecutive year. She was awarded All-Conference Second Team for the 2020 and 2021 seasons. This year, Cernak paced the Saints in goals scored with 15 and assists with 14. The 5'7 midfielder tallied 44 points on the season. She also became the women's soccer career goals and points leader. The senior's best statistical match came against Calumet College of St. Joseph, where she recorded eight goals and had four assists.
Ashlyn Craig, from Arvada, Colorado, is a freshman defender on the Saints' women's soccer team. She appeared in all 19 matches, having 18 starts. While anchoring the backline, Craig helped the Saints hold their opponents to 25 goals scored against. She also tallied one goal and three assists for the year..
Women's soccer finished their season with a 6-6-7 overall record. The Saints finished 8th in the CCAC regular season standings with a conference record of 5-5-3. Holy Cross fell to Olivet Nazarene University in the opening round of the CCAC postseason tournament.
