On March 25, 2025, Congressman Yakym expressed concerns about the use of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funds. He stated that "For too long, TANF funds have been wasted on excessive administrative costs, diverting money away from families in need." He announced a new bill aimed at capping administrative spending to ensure that more resources are directed towards those who require assistance rather than being consumed by bureaucratic overhead.

Later the same day, he posted another tweet describing an incident as "Reprehensible. The unfortunate result of the radical left’s absurd rhetoric."

On March 26, 2025, Congressman Yakym criticized the Biden administration's approach to trade policy. He claimed that "The Biden administration failed our farmers—piling up trade deficits while pushing a woke climate agenda instead of securing real trade deals." He advocated for an "America First" trade policy.
