Congressman Rudy Yakym, who has represented Indiana’s 2nd District in the U.S. Congress since 2022, posted several updates on July 22, 2025, addressing constituent services and legislative efforts.

In a post at 12:24 p.m., Yakym informed residents about assistance with federal agencies: "Need help with a federal agency? My team is available in Akron, Mentone, and Nappanee today."

Later that day, at 6:10 p.m., Yakym announced the introduction of new legislation aimed at reforming unemployment benefits. He wrote: "I introduced the SHIELD Act to restore fairness to the unemployment system and ensure benefits go to the truly unemployed. Hardworking Hoosiers shouldn't have to pay for someone who chooses not to work."

In an evening update at 10:11 p.m., Yakym expressed gratitude for support from federal and state leaders: "Great news! Thank you @POTUS and @GovBraun for your leadership and support."

Yakym, age 39, was born in 1984 and currently resides in Granger. He graduated from Indiana University South Bend with associate and bachelor’s degrees in 2009 and 2011, respectively.
