On August 6, 2025, Yakym highlighted the role of federal tax credits in local housing development: "I visited Dogwood Estates in Walkerton this evening and was able to see an incredible development made possible by the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC). Thousands of Americans will be able to attain affordable quality housing as a result of the enhancements of LIHTC in the".
