Congressman Rudy Yakym, who has represented Indiana’s 2nd District in the U.S. Congress since 2022, recently shared a series of posts reflecting on national events and local constituent services. Yakym, age 39, is a graduate of Indiana University South Bend and resides in Granger.
On July 13, 2025, Yakym marked the anniversary of an attempt on former President Trump’s life with the statement: "One year ago today, President Trump survived an assassination attempt in Butler, PA. He’s never stopped fighting for America".
The following day, July 14, 2025, Yakym commented on recent policy developments by stating: "This is a big win. Putting control back in the hands of states means putting parents back in charge and empowering families, teachers, and communities to create better opportunities for our kids’ futures."
Later that same day, Yakym announced outreach efforts for his constituents: "My team will be available in La Porte and Plymouth tomorrow to assist with federal agency issues."
Yakym was born in 1984 and earned both an AS (2009) and BS (2011) from Indiana University South Bend.
