Today, Congressman Rudy Yakym of Indiana's 2nd District supported three pieces of legislation aimed at advancing cryptocurrency in the United States. The bills include the Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act (H.R. 1919), the CLARITY Act (H.R. 3633), and the GENIUS Act (S. 1582).

Rep. Yakym expressed his views on these legislative measures, stating: “As America navigates the rise of digital assets, these bills help ensure the U.S. continues leading the way in cryptocurrency and financial innovation by fostering innovation while setting clear boundaries for regulation and corporate accountability.” He further emphasized that these initiatives aim to create a future where digital currencies can prosper under regulations that protect privacy, promote transparency, and maintain consumer trust.

The Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act seeks to limit federal government power by prohibiting the establishment of a central bank digital currency, thereby protecting financial privacy.

The CLARITY Act aims to provide a regulatory framework for digital assets with oversight from agencies such as the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Lastly, the GENIUS Act outlines guidelines for issuing stablecoins in the U.S., requiring full backing by safe assets and compliance with anti-money laundering laws, without treating them as stocks or bonds.
