Congressman Rudy Yakym, representing Indiana's 2nd District since 2022, has been active on social media, sharing insights into legislative activities and his views on current political issues. On May 13, 2025, he communicated through a series of tweets regarding the legislative process and partisan debates.

On May 13, Yakym announced that he was heading into a meeting with the House Ways and Means Committee to mark up what he described as "our One, Big, Beautiful bill." He expressed gratitude towards Chairman Jason Smith for his leadership in this endeavor. "Heading into @WaysandMeansGOP to markup our One, Big, Beautiful bill. Thank you to Chairman @RepJasonSmith for your leadership on this. Let's get it done "

Later that day, Yakym addressed complaints from Democrats regarding the Child Tax Credit. He reminded them that during their control of both Congress and the White House they allowed the credit to expire. He emphasized that the current bill from the Ways and Means GOP aims to make this tax credit permanent. "Suddenly, Democrats are complaining about the Child Tax Credit, so I had to remind them: they controlled the House, Senate, and White House and let it expire."

On May 14th, Yakym referenced an article by The New York Times stating that Democrats have been misleading about the effects of Trump's 2017 tax cuts. Despite being eight years past those events, he accused Democrats of continuing similar strategies in their political narratives. "Even the @nytimes admits Democrats have been misleading the public about the 2017 Trump tax cuts."

Rudy Yakym is a graduate of Indiana University South Bend with degrees earned in 2009 and 2011. Born in Granger in 1984 at age 39; he continues his service in Congress.
