Congressman Rudy Yakym, representing Indiana's 2nd District since 2022, has recently shared his perspective on infrastructure projects and their management under the leadership of Secretary Duffy. His tweets, posted on May 15, 2025, critique the previous administration's handling of transportation projects.

On May 15, 2025, Congressman Yakym highlighted a significant backlog in infrastructure projects. He stated that "@PeteButtigieg left @SecDuffy with 3,200 projects that were announced but never executed." He further mentioned that Secretary Duffy is addressing these issues by moving away from what he described as the "Build Nothing Biden Administration."

In another tweet from the same day, Yakym criticized the inherited situation faced by Secretary Duffy. According to him, ".@SecDuffy inherited a disaster from @PeteButtigieg," referring to more than 3,200 backlogged projects and delays in RAISE grants and electric vehicle charging ports installation. He remarked that Pete Buttigieg preferred holding the title while Secretary Duffy is actively working.

Yakym also addressed the issue of electric vehicle charging ports installation in a tweet dated May 15, 2025. He pointed out that "In Q4 of 2024 the private sector added 12k charging ports," whereas only a fraction were built under Buttigieg due to procedural delays involving ceremonial groundbreakings.

Rudy Yakym was born in Granger in 1984 and graduated from Indiana University South Bend with degrees earned in both 2009 and 2011.
