Congressman Rudy Yakym, who has represented Indiana's 2nd District since 2022, recently shared several updates on his official social media account. His posts touched on government fiscal policy and social welfare program requirements.

On June 4, 2025, Congressman Yakym announced that the White House had sent a rescission package aimed at eliminating over $9 billion in what he described as "wasteful spending." He noted this move as a "key step toward building a more efficient and accountable government." "Today, the White House sent us a rescission package to eliminate over $9 billion in wasteful spending. This is a key step toward building a more efficient and accountable government."

Later that day, Yakym posted another tweet containing only an emoji pointing downward along with a link. The tweet can be found here.

In another post on June 4, 2025, Congressman Yakym addressed work requirements for certain programs. He explained that these requirements could be fulfilled by working, attending school, participating in work programs, or engaging in community service for 80 hours each month. He further commented that time spent playing video games or watching TV would exceed half of this requirement. "These work requirements can be met by spending 80 hours a month working, going to school, participating in a work program, or doing community service. The time these individuals spend playing video games or watching TV would be 50% over this requirement."

Rudy Yakym was born in Granger in 1984 and completed his education at Indiana University South Bend with degrees earned in 2009 and 2011.
