Rep. Yakym stated, "Taxpayer-funded small business aid should go to Americans who follow the law and grow our economy, not to sanctuary cities that defy it." He emphasized that these bills are designed to prioritize American entrepreneurs by ensuring federal resources are allocated appropriately.
The "Save SBA from Sanctuary Cities Act" mandates the relocation of Small Business Administration (SBA) offices away from sanctuary jurisdictions to areas that cooperate with federal immigration enforcement agencies. Meanwhile, the "American Entrepreneurs First Act" introduces a requirement for citizenship verification in SBA assistance loan applications, aiming to restrict access solely to legal and eligible applicants.
